The Indian entertainment sector is changing at a fast pace, and talent promoter Sunny Verma believes the next phase of growth will come from fresh faces entering Bollywood, OTT content, and reality television through digital influence and modelling exposure. Known in the industry for working behind the scenes with aspiring artists, Sunny Verma recently shared his views on how the modelling business is evolving in India.

According to Sunny Verma, modelling today should not be viewed as a permanent career option. Instead, he described it as a first step that helps newcomers enter bigger entertainment spaces like Bollywood movies, advertisements, television, OTT platforms, and reality shows.

Modelling No Longer Limited To Fashion Industry

Sunny Verma said the glamour industry has changed sharply over the last few years. Earlier, many people treated modelling as a separate profession focused only on fashion events and portfolio shoots. Today, he believes most newcomers enter modelling with the aim of eventually moving into mainstream entertainment.

“Modelling gives exposure and confidence, but the larger opportunities are in Bollywood, OTT and reality entertainment. That is where most fresh faces want to go now,” he said.

He also explained that stable income and long-term work opportunities are still difficult within the modelling industry alone. Because of this, many artists are trying to expand their careers into acting and entertainment projects.

Sunny Verma Casting Plans Target New Generation Talent

Sunny Verma revealed that his team plans to introduce nearly 15 new faces into Bollywood movies and reality shows over the next three years. According to him, these selections will happen in FastTrack mode and will focus on artists who already have social media reach, public engagement, and screen presence.

The Sunny Verma Casting strategy, he explained, is no longer based only on traditional auditions or portfolio presentations. Digital visibility and creator influence now play a major role in talent discovery.

Industry experts say this pattern has become common across OTT platforms and reality shows, where social media personalities often get quicker access to mainstream opportunities compared to earlier years.

Social Media Becoming Key Entry Point

Sunny Verma believes social networking platforms have changed the entertainment industry completely. According to him, creators and influencers now hold stronger positions because they already bring audience attention and online engagement.

“Today casting teams notice people who already have public reach. Social media has become one of the biggest tools for entering mainstream entertainment,” he explained.

He also pointed out that audience behaviour has changed rapidly after the growth of short video platforms and OTT content. Young viewers now spend more time consuming creator-driven content, digital entertainment, and reality-based formats.

Because of this shift, entertainment companies are increasingly looking for personalities who can perform both on-screen and online.

Bollywood Has Strong Connection With Modelling

The connection between modelling and Bollywood is not new. Many successful actors first entered the public eye through modelling assignments, beauty pageants, or fashion campaigns before moving into films.

Celebrities like Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Sidharth Malhotra, and Bipasha Basu are among the well-known names who successfully transitioned from modelling into Bollywood careers.

Sunny Verma said these examples continue to inspire newcomers across India. He also claimed that a large percentage of Bollywood personalities originally came from glamour or modelling backgrounds.

According to him, the line between modelling, creator culture, and acting is becoming smaller with each passing year.

Advice For Fresh Models Entering Industry

Sunny Verma also advised freshers not to remain limited to photoshoots and portfolio building. Instead, he encouraged upcoming talent to work towards advertisements, auditions, casting companies, and digital content.

He believes many newcomers lose valuable time by focusing only on glamour photography without building performance skills or industry networks.

“Portfolio shoots are important in the beginning, but freshers should move towards advertisements, casting companies and acting opportunities as quickly as possible,” he said.

He added that consistency, discipline, communication skills, and audience engagement are becoming equally important for survival in the entertainment business.

FastTrack Casting Becoming New Industry Trend

According to industry observers, FastTrack casting has increased after the rise of OTT platforms, influencer marketing, and digital entertainment. Producers now prefer faces who can quickly connect with audiences and already have online visibility.

Sunny Verma believes this trend will continue strongly over the next few years as Bollywood and digital entertainment become more connected.

He ended his statement by saying that the goal now is to help talented newcomers move faster towards mainstream entertainment opportunities.

“Casting models towards Bollywood in FastTrack mode is the goal now,” Sunny Verma said.
